MGA Betting Sites: Malta-Licensed Bookmakers, Checked in the Register

Not every MGA licence covers sports betting. Betting needs a “Type 2” gaming service, which the MGA lists as fixed-odds betting, including live betting. On 3 November 2026 we checked that each site below has a sportsbook and that its company’s MGA licence is active and approved for Type 2 betting.

How we checked

For each site, we searched its web address in the MGA URL checker, opened the company’s seal of authorisation and read the approved game types. Every licence above shows “Licensed” and includes “Type 2 Gaming Services: Fixed Odd Betting, including Live Betting”. We also checked that each site has a sportsbook section.

The safety score is Casino Guru’s Safety Index for the casino side of each brand. We haven’t tested these bookmakers ourselves and they are not part of the TrustSpin ranking.

Type 1, Type 2, Type 3: what the MGA licence types mean

MGA game typeWhat it covers (as written in the register)
Type 1Casino-type games and lotteries
Type 2Fixed-odds betting, including live betting
Type 3Pool betting (including betting exchanges), peer-to-peer poker and bingo

A casino with only a Type 1 licence can’t legally offer a sportsbook under its MGA licence. If a site offers betting, its seal should list Type 2.

Same company, same licence

Betsson and Betsafe run under the same company (SFTG Limited) and licence, and Rizk shares its company (Zecure Gaming Limited) with Guts. Complaints and terms are often similar across sister sites, so check the company, not just the brand.

Before you bet

Check that the site accepts players from your country: MGA bookmakers often exclude many countries, and some brands run separate local sites (for example in Ontario). Read the sportsbook rules on void bets and maximum winnings, and remember the first withdrawal needs an identity check.
