Decimal odds
Decimal odds show your total return per unit staked, stake included. At 2.50, a €10 bet returns €25: €15 profit plus your €10 back.
Fractional odds
Fractional odds show profit relative to the stake. 3/2 means €3 profit for every €2 staked, which is 2.50 in decimal. To convert, divide and add 1: 3 ÷ 2 + 1 = 2.50.
American odds
Positive odds show the profit on a 100 stake: +150 wins 150, which is 2.50 in decimal. Negative odds show how much you must stake to win 100: −200 means staking 200 to win 100, which is 1.50 in decimal.
Implied probability and margin
Divide 1 by the decimal odds: 2.50 implies 40%. Add up the implied probabilities of every outcome in a match and the total is always above 100%. That excess is the bookmaker's margin, and the lower it is, the better the prices for you.
